Love is Like the Vowels of the Alphabet

Reblogged from A Blemish is a Blunder:

Love is like the vowels of the alphabet;
it is what ties the world's components together,
and without it there could be no words.

Why I Ride: Bike MS New York City 2012, by Masaki Ide

I’ve registered for Bike MS New York City because my mother has been diagnosed with MS, and I think this is a fun way for my friends to support me in fundraising. My mother has been struggling with MS for many years now. MS holds many people back in many ways. Like most people with MS my mother struggles but stays strong even when times are difficult. Her and many other MS sufferers are very inspirational with doing what they do while still dealing with a frustrated set back. My mother has limited mobility and struggles with her memory. She does exercises such as her favorite sitting salsa DVD and loves to read books, practicing vocabulary in different languages and has a love for the whole New York Times, especially the Monday crossword puzzle. My mother has recently destroyed me in in scrabble. She lived a very extraordinary life till MS started to majorly affect it. She was a high school teacher and even lived in Japan for a decade. She has two masters and been trying to write a “book”.

Why You Should Sponsor Me

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society will use funds collected from Bike MS New York City to not only support research for a cure tomorrow, but also to provide programs which address the needs of people living with MS today. Because we choose to ride for those who sometimes can’t, because we choose to donate to Bike MS, we are getting closer to the hour when no one will have to hear the words, “You have MS.”

Why We Want to Create a World Free of MS

Having Multiple Sclerosis means that you may not be able to walk when you wake up. Or that you may suddenly have impaired vision. Or that your memory will fail you for no apparent reason. The symptoms of MS are different for everyone – the only certainty is that it will effect yet another person every hour of every day.
